SPAIN | May 4 - 12, 2018
Come and explore some of the most historic and inspiring parts of Spain. Each day we will set out on a different adventure, weaving yoga and meditation into our daily existence. We begin our adventure in Madrid and end in Málaga. Included: All accommodations, all in-country travel, breakfast and dinner meals, all entrances as described on the itinerary, and local guides in major sights (Toledo, Trujillo, Seville, Cordoba).
Day 1 | We meet at our hotel in Madrid. Welcome drink and dinner downtown.
Day 2 | We leave after breakfast and head to nearby Toledo where we will have a guided tour of this imperial city with visits to the Cathedral and one of the two medieval synagogues left in town. We continue on to Trujillo after lunch. Check in upon arrival at our hotel and free time before dinner. We will then take a night walking tour of this enchanted town—birthplace of Francisco Pizarro, conqueror of Peru.
Day 3 | Already in Extremadura, a short drive will take us to Mérida, its capital. This ancient city has so much to offer and a guided tour of it will prove to be an extraordinary experience. We will visit Mérida's Roman theater and amphitheater and walk on its long and well preserved Roman bridge that crosses the Guadiana river.
We then continue to the quaint town of Burguillos del Cerro. Once we have explored around town, a welcome drink as well as a superb dinner awaits us. A walk of the old section of town is planned for this evening. We shall meet the locals and find out how they live.
Day 4 | Hike around the Templar castle this morning, with the possibility of reaching the top for awesome, incredible views of the surroundings. On our way back down we will stop at St. Maria, a former Templar church that now exhibits its interiors. A picnic lunch awaits us at Nicomedes farm where we then learn about the Mediterranean forest in the form of Dehesa, the natural habitat of the Iberian pig and many other wild species.
We will take part in cooking workshop this evening, making Spanish omelette and Paella.
Dinner with live music.
Day 5 | No rush to leave lovely Burguillos! We will linger in commercial Zafra, visit a wine cellar, and learn about the wines produced in this astonishing region. A 90-minute ride to Seville will introduce us to Andalucia and to one of the most beautiful and intriguing cities in Europe. A panoramic tour of the city will serve as a perfect way of getting to know it from the leisure of our bus. After checking in at our centrally located hotel we will discover its most fascinating part on foot.
Dinner at our hotel.
Day 6 | Morning visit of Seville with our local guide introducing us to this majestic oasis of colours and art, including the entrance to the largest Gothic cathedral on earth, and the delightful palace, known as Casa Pilatos.
